The Tourist Office meets local hosts.

A Look Back at the Hosts Seminar at Longueteau Distillery: A Key Moment for Tourism Professionals!
The Grand Sud Caraïbe Tourism Office had the pleasure of welcoming local hosts for a friendly and much-anticipated seminar, organized in the authentic setting of Longueteau Distillery. The event brought together around thirty owners of tourist accommodations for a packed program: taxation, labelling, regional support programs, innovation, and sharing of best practices.

Concrete Content and Appreciated Speakers
According to the satisfaction survey, participants praised the quality of the speakers, especially their ability to clarify complex topics such as taxation, subsidies, and banking support. Presentations were commended for their clarity and conciseness, encouraging real interaction and fruitful exchanges between professionals.

Points forts : fiscalité, financement, labellisation
The seminar enabled:

  • Clarification of tax regimes and strategic choices to optimize hosts’ activities (deductions, social status, VAT, tourist tax).
  • Promotion of “Tourism & Disability” labelling as a real lever for attractiveness and loyalty.
  • Explanation of the benefits of tourism accommodation classification, both fiscally and commercially.
  • Presentation of the regional support scheme for quality upgrades, with local examples of supported projects.

A Collaborative Atmosphere, Ideas for the Future
Engagement with the speakers was especially appreciated. For future seminars, participants proposed several improvements: longer interventions, adapting the size of visual aids, and enhancing advance communication with hosts. They also suggested organizing events around cultural themes and sustainable development, promoting inclusive and intergenerational hospitality, and involving banking partners more actively.

Conclusion: A Success to Repeat!
The Tourism Office’s objectives were fully achieved: to provide hosts with information and mutual help, and to foster the qualitative development of the territory’s tourism offering. A few technical adjustments will make the next editions even better. Thank you to all participants for their commitment and suggestions!
