Résidence Boulagyel Lyrika

Boulagyèl (Guadeloupe's traditional vocal percussion practice) is an integral part of the gwoka culture, recognized as an intangible heritage of humanity since 2014. Rarely mentioned, compared to the other disciplines dance, singing and drumming, the practice is so unique in the Caribbean singular for the Caribbean (and even for the world) that it raises questions about the mystery of its origins. It is a significant marker of Guadeloupean identity.
