Le Phare

The Vieux-Fort lighthouse is a landmark located at the southern tip of Basse-Terre, Guadeloupe. Built in the 1950s, this 20-metre-high lighthouse, recognizable by its white tower topped in red, guides navigators in a maritime zone reputed to be difficult. Perched on a rocky promontory, it offers an exceptional panorama of the Caribbean Sea and the islands of Les Saintes. Now automated, the site is appreciated above all for its landscapes, seaside walks and magnificent sunsets, making it a must-see for visitors.
