La Migration des cœurs

*La Migration des cœurs* transposes the world of Emily Brontë’s *Wuthering Heights* to the Guadeloupean setting, through a reimagined adaptation by Guadeloupean writer Maryse Condé. The original story thus leaves the landscapes of Yorkshire behind to take place on the Engoulement estate in Guadeloupe. Impossible loves, social differences, class dynamics, and issues related to racism run through this adaptation, in which the characters and their relationships are reimagined within a Caribbean context. This production thus creates a dialogue between a great classic of English literature and Maryse Condé’s unique perspective and body of work. Directed by Anne Monfort, the play invites audiences to rediscover this tale of passions, wounds, and intertwined destinies through a new lens.
