CONCERT JACQUES SCHWARTZ-BART

With *Resistance*, saxophonist Jacques Schwarz-Bart takes listeners on a musical journey where memory, freedom, and legacy converge. As the heir to a family history deeply shaped by the struggle for freedom, the artist transforms music into a space for reflection, creativity, and hope. Through this project, Jacques Schwarz-Bart pays tribute to various figures who embodied resistance in many forms, including Maya Angelou, Sarah Maldoror, Violetta Chaville, and the maroon slaves. For this performance, the saxophonist is accompanied by Dylan Choisy on drums, Vyctor Nyberg on double bass, and Luan Pommier on vocals. Together, they explore the freedom afforded by an ensemble without a harmonic instrument, leaving ample room for dialogue among the musicians and for each to express themselves.
