BASSE-TERRE
Fanon
This production presents a theatrical adaptation of *Black Skin, White Masks*, a seminal work published in 1952 by the Martinican psychiatrist and thinker Frantz Fanon. The project adopts a deliberately minimalist form to place the text and the spoken word at the center of the performance. Driven by a single actor, a single voice, and the text itself, the adaptation explores Fanon’s reflections on identity, racism, discrimination, and the legacy of colonialism. These words, born in the Caribbean, offer a broader examination of human relationships and the mechanisms of domination. After several days of work at L’Artchipel, this residency showcase will give the audience the opportunity to experience a stage in the development of this theatrical production, which is still a work in progress.
