Journée Mondiale du Tourisme 2026

To mark World Tourism Day 2026, Guadeloupe is celebrating its heritage, its regions, and new opportunities in the tourism sector under the theme “Regions, Innovation & Creole Hospitality.” The festivities will begin on Tuesday, September 22, in Basse-Terre, at the Guadeloupe Regional Council building. This day will be dedicated to the archipelago’s treasures and reflections on the future of tourism, with a particular focus on natural and cultural heritage, local expertise, gastronomy, innovation, and Creole hospitality. As a follow-up to this event, the Grand Sud Caraïbe Intermunicipal Tourism Office will offer a tour of the city of Basse-Terre on Friday, September 25. This tour will provide an opportunity to explore Guadeloupe’s capital and gain a deeper understanding of its history, heritage, and the elements that shape its identity.
