Le Temple Indou de Changy
The Changy Hindu temple is one of the most important Hindu places of worship in Guadeloupe, located in Capesterre-Belle-Eau. Built between 1973 and 1974 on an already sacred site, its architecture is inspired by Tamil temples, with a richly decorated gopuram and sculptures representing various Hindu deities. A place of pilgrimage and meditation for the local Hindu community, the temple is dedicated to several deities, including Maliémin, Vinayagar (Ganesh), Sarasvati and Maldévilin, symbols of culture, wisdom and protection. The building also attracts visitors with its colorful facade and cultural significance, testifying to the religious diversity of the archipelago and the heritage of the communities of Indian origin settled in Guadeloupe.
